Translation service Enable2 has benefited from City Centre Growth Zone funding after creating more jobs and making plans to move to new, larger premises in Bradford.
Enable 2, who deliver face to face, telephone and video interpreting and written translation services, has now expanded its business in the district and recently recruited over 60 interpreters in the Sheffield area.
The social enterprise has also given seven of its temporary staff permanent contracts bringing their total employees up to 16, which includes a bank of customer service staff.
The organisation, which currently operates from Douglas Mill in Bowling Old Lane, has recently bought a property in Sunbridge Road in the Goitside conservation area of Bradford city centre.
Enable2 maintains a large database of qualified translators and has a pool of around 400 linguists who live in the Bradford district, the Aire Valley, Sheffield, Barnsley and Doncaster. They speak over 135 languages and dialects between them.
Enable2 specialists in working with the public sector and they deliver services to various NHS organisations including GPs, dentists and local hospitals. They are also the sole provider to Bradford Council and have other professional clients such as solicitors.
Translation and interpretation services are a growth sector due to the diversity and mobility of the local population and also equality legislation require services to be accessible.
Coun Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council's Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, said: "It is fantastic to know that the City Centre Growth Zone scheme has enabled this successful business to move into the city centre and bring an empty building in the Goitside area back into use.
"It also means new jobs coming into the city centre and the move into the new premises will help them grow their company further as they secure more contracts and increase their services."
