Our knowledge of many varied communities, our skills as language support providers and our strong, positive partnerships with a rich network of local organisations mean we are well-placed, and privileged, to be able to engage in and support innovative social return projects that help people to live better lives.

Community Investment Fund


As part of our commitment to the communities in which we work, we set aside a specific sum of money each year to invest in community-based projects that are having an impact on the lives of local people in three key areas:

  • Language and Culture
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Employment and Education

The formal application process has recently been officially reopened after a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic and we are encouraging organisations that meet our criteria (listed below) to apply for funding of up to £2,500. Interested parties are officially invited to apply by filling out the Expression of Interest Form for assessment by our Social Returns Panel. 

Enable2 are currently awarding funding of between £200 and £2,500. This funding is available to:

  • Community-based organisations with a governance document, a minimum of three unrelated people on their committee, and a bank or building society account in the name of the organisation, with a minimum of two unrelated bank signatories
  • Formally registered organisations, such as charities, companies limited by guarantee, etc.
  • Statutory organisations, such as schools, community health teams, etc. who can demonstrate their projects or activities have strong, community benefit and are not part of their mainstream work

If the project outline looks to be eligible for funding, the applicant will be invited to submit a full application, along with any relevant supporting information. This will then be formally assessed by our Social Return Panel who will prepare summary papers for a grants’ panel.
