We are pleased to announce that Liz Weatherill, our Managing Director is one of the shortlisted candidates in the Not for Profit category in the Yorkshire & Humber for the 2016 National Women in Business Awards.

The Forward Ladies’ Women in Business Awards recognise the achievements of professional business women in the North West of England, Wales, Ireland and Isle of Man, Yorkshire, The North East & Scotland, the Midlands and London and the South. Forward Ladies work with women from all sectors and stages of professional life by providing a comprehensive range of support.

Liz Weatherill comments “ I am thrilled to be shortlisted. The mission of the awards is to help businesses unlock their full potential which is aligned really well with our mission. As a community interest company we’re about more than making a profit. We are committed to providing opportunities for ethnic minority groups, disadvantaged and disabled people to gain employment and live more independent and fulfilling lives. Our profits have supported apprenticeships, skills for Community Interpreters and employment opportunities for 10 people on the ‘Get Bradford Working’ programme who have all gone on to employment or further study.”

“I would like to say congratulations to the other Bradford-based women who are shortlisted, Claire Bennett from Common Purpose, Sandra Corcoran from Pennine Cycles and Claire Giffen from Gents Quarter.”

Liz Weatherill will attend the regional final at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Newcastle upon Tyne on 14 October. The winners from this and the other regional finals, will then be invited to appear before a live judging interview panel in November, followed by the national final in Leeds on 1 December.
